|Justice Pranas Kuconis was born on 6 June 1961 in the Kaišiadorys district. In 1984, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University. In 1984–1986, he lectured at the Faculty of Law. In 1991–1993, he worked as an investigator of the Investigation Department under the Ministry of the Interior and, in 1993–1997, he worked as the head of a division and Deputy Director and Director of the Forensic Science Centre of Lithuania. From December 1997, he worked as a justice of the Supreme Court of Lithuania. He was a member of working groups for drafting the Code of Criminal Procedure and other laws. He is an author of numerous articles on criminal law and criminal procedure and a co-author of several monographs and teaching aids. He is an associate professor, holds a PhD in law.
In March 2008, Mr. Pranas Kuconis was appointed a justice of the Justice Constitutional Court.
