Egidijus Jarašiūnas was born in 1952. In 1979, after he had graduated from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, he worked as an advocate. In 1990–1992, he was a deputy of the Supreme Council-Reconstituent Seimas and a member of the Provisional Commission for Preparation of the Draft Constitution. He is a signatory to the Act on the Restoration of the Independent State of Lithuania. In 1992–1996, he was a member of the Seimas. Since 1999, he has been teaching in the Constitutional Law Department of the Law Faculty of the Law University of Lithuania. He holds a PhD in law. In 1996–2005, he was a justice of the Constitutional Court. In 2010, he was appointed as a judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union. |
